Tanning and sytycd

I am going to do the airbrush tanning thing tonight. I did it a couple of times last summer and liked it alright...as long as I exfoliate well it looks alright. I have a competition coming up this weekend and I just feel better when I have a little color! Why is that? Why does a tan make such a difference in my perception of how I look? Well, some of you will see me Sunday...hopefully it will turn out okay...I'll have to put up a picture...

Such a fun temple trip. What a great youth we have in our ward!

great trip to the temple tonight. the young men and young women in our ward are amazing, sweet people. they have so many great qualities about them and i was very impressed at their reverence. it was a great experience.

airlines can suck my toe

Ugh...We are trying to find airplane tickets for four people to Idaho Falls...not easy. Our options right now are flying out of Baltimore, Philadelphia, Washington DC or maybe even Pittsburgh and flying into Salt Lake or Idaho Falls. One of the major problems is that we are trying to fly out right at the end of fourth of July weekend and we can only miss one Monday if we can help it because Matt can't take of work. We have just been looking and looking and finding different options but everything is still ridiculously expensive! Plus we'll need a rental car.
I love to see my family and I want my kids to visit more but money or the airline people or employers or time in general just make everything hard! It should be way more fun to plan a vacation than it is for us right now.
I wish we could just be there. And then be home.

Eww...

So we get home from church today and Christian says on our front porch, "eww look at that spider", then daddy replies, "woah, that is a big one, kinda looks like a black widow...wait, that isn't a black widow is it??" I squat down to get a closer look, and sure enough...big round black body, bright red spot on the underside....EEWWW A BLACK WIDOW SPIDER! This thing is seriously living right there on our front porch stairs. So after the photo shoot Matt heroically squished it and hopefully there are no family members nearby.

It's prom night for Emmy...I did her hair and make up and she looked very pretty in her dress and with her date...

Today I was also helping Matt at his new office, getting things ready...I cleaned the toilet...it was so gross and I made it white again!

Jack decided during quiet time that he wanted to draw a picture...only problem is...no paper...

My First Free Saturday in 9 months...

Today I have nothing to do...until the evening when I am doing Em's hair for prom...but otherwise nothing! It is so exciting to have nothing! So this morning I got up at 8am...got dressed and was off to find yard sales! I found about 5, one was called a flea market at C. Milton but it was basically a yard sale. I found some fun treasures...two pieces of artwork for the kids room, 2 razor scooters, 2 dvds, some I Can Read books for Christian, 2 koosh balls, a giant box of wooden blocks (my favorite find, the kids have loved building with them so far), a Barbie doll to go into storage until needed :), and a Rock n Roll Elmo doll. It was fun...I really like going to yard sales and seeing people's stuff. There are some really weird things sometimes...I saw a book called 20,000 Words, thats all it was, 20,000 words listed alphabetically written with the pronunciation in it. Who has that??! More importantly, who wants that?! Well, I'm am off to watch the kids ride the razor scooters...or attempt I guess.

Live sytycd review...

Yes I am really sitting here watching the show and writing a review at the same time. Matt is gone at Elders Quorum activity, this keeps it interesting...and I need some place to vent what I am thinking about what I see. Maybe I should have a sytycd party and have people over to watch. I love talking about what is happening on shows. Matt doesn't. :P
First girl was good. Italian was hot but acted like a total idiot. Mia Michaels totally slipped and said he wouldn't be sexful I mean successful...hahaha...And now on to Sex...back for his fourth season??? What is the matter with this guy. He keeps saying he did very well, where was he? Wow...he has a pirouette this year! Much more content and way more hip thrusts too...he left the stage...what the heck? Mary Murphy is so annoying. Mia...trying to let him down gently. I can't believe he seriously calls himself Sex...many many years of extensive training....hahaha...many master choreographers in the country...wow...what fans?? he is delusional...planet california?
The blind girl...good effort but definitely not strong enough technique...emotional! geez..whew
And we're back. Steven Boss "Twitch" - did he say all emo? he is moving his body in a way I have never seen before...that was pretty cool...not much besides the popping stuff and that one arch jump, but I see some potential...they like him...oh no, is "you're stupid" the new way to say you're good? eww Straight to vegas...

Oh Happy Day!

Today I have decided is going to be a good, productive day. I have tried to keep a positive attitude when Christian began whining about socks...yes...socks...and when Jack threw his cereal bowl (thankfully already empty) across the room, the spoon soon to follow, and when, as I pulled a bowl out for my breakfast, the other three up in the cupboard came crashing down to the counter and floor, two of them breaking enough to throw away.
All this before 8:15am. But I have decided...good day...productive day...positive day...


I kinda feel like Tony Robbins, the guru guy, which I guess is a good thing?

berry, berry sneaky...

So this morning I wake up to hear Matt saying in his disappointed/on the verge of angry voice, "Jack, I can't believe you...sit down right here". I asked what he did and Matt said he opened the Fudge Rounds. I thought he maybe ate one...no...he ate 5! Ripped open the box, cut off the tops of the wrappers with scissors and ate 5 fudge rounds...and still asked for breakfast!

my shoulder basically feels like the bones are grinding together with a little stringy nerve thing wedged between them. lifting my arm, rolling it back and forth, sitting here on the couch doing nothing...it still hurts.

exciting and meaningful update...Matt got possession of his new private practice office and will be getting the keys tomorrow! 11 more days until he is semi open for business!

My First Day

I woke up this morning expecting nothing different. Feed kids, pack lunch, eat cereal, check emails and other favorite websites (www.woot.com , www.shirt.woot.com , www.amazon.com , news.google.com) and then figure out what needs to be done. Then I go to a website I have never gone to before. www.blogger.com. I am starting to get a little nervous tingle in my belly...its just a website! But this means I am actually thinking about doing this...writing my thoughts and activities down for people to read, opening myself up in a way I never have. No more thinking, now I am starting the process. I sit for about 10 minutes trying to figure out a name, the first thing they ask for, and the best I come up with is lesliehahaha...good start? I'm not so sure. Now I am completely anxious about it.
I don't know what is in store for this blog. I can't promise anything fabulous...only that there will be updates, pictures, videos and hopefully comments and friends. Good luck to me, the newbie!
