Happy Happy Happy Anniversary...

Today was the 8 year anniversary for me and Matt. We didn't get to spend too much time together because I am teaching this week and he opened his office this week!!! (more to come on that) But we did get to go have a lovely dinner with his parents at Bonefish Grill. Nice place. Good food. Then I took the babysitter home and he fell asleep. Its been a long day. So after 8 years we have 2 great kids, lots of fun memories, more love than before and each other...who could want more! I love you Matt!

Girls Camp 2008

So, girls camp was last week. I was supposed to go down on Tuesday but was still blowing my nose every five minutes and decided to wait until Wednesday and go with Geri. Good choice but I think my cold still made it's way to Geri's nose. Hahaha....I mean so sad! So we had a fun drive...we left at 6:20 am and arrived with plenty of time before the hike. I braved the giant ditches and rocks and got my car up the hill, it was scary for me. We applied our throat burning bug spray and were off on the hike. It was long and my foot started hurting but it was still fun. Like taking pictures on the rocks and making a raucous and then realizing they were doing certification class about 10 feet away....stellar example from the leaders....Towards the end of the hike I am told that I have to run the rest of the way down the treacherous hill and get back to camp to move my car before it is towed! Ahh! Luckily I made it in time...we had a rousing game of charades in the pavillion, and sang at the top of our lungs, great fun.
Tubing was great, sore abs and shoulders but still great. The bus ride was filled with excitement...as we took a turn I was busy looking at the awesome train tracks and went sliding off my seat. It was quite a surprise but hilarious. I wish I had a video.
We had a mini olympic beam routine competition where I think Stephanie won? Because of her dismount...or maybe it was Carey...
testimony meeting was great as always
heard 4 pretty sweet jokes....still waiting for the fifth...laughed a lot...more than in a long time...
made an amazing action short film with Geri...hopefully it will be coming soon to a computer near you...you'll be on the edge of your seat...
my Susquehanna girls are amazing...great girls! Our leaders are fabulous and way fun
I can't wait for next year!
Check out this sweet jump from Geri...

Baseball is almost done this season. One more game and a pizza party. Christian was on the Black Fire Blaster team in Forest Hill. He has really gotten better this year with catching and hitting. He has been getting hits with a pitcher instead of the tee! Next year he'll move up to the 7/8 group with no tees at all.
Christian had his first grade picnic but because of the heat advisory it was held in the classroom. He got a dragon painted on his face and got to eat lots of treats. He is now a second grader! Crazy!
So I tried to take pictures at the party but I forgot to put my SD card in the camera. I took pictures in the car later that afternoon...

Christian's Birthday Celebrations!

Christian celebrated his birthday first at Toys R Us with the birthday club gift card he got. They said his name over the loud speaker and everything, he got this funny smile on his face. It was cute. Then we went to Chuck E Cheese's on his actual birthday, which hardly ever has happens, and then at "KK's" (grandma in Maryland) house on Saturday night. A party with friends we are still trying to work out. With the birthday at the end of the school year it is really hard! For me at least...
Chuck E's was fun, the Crowls and the Kleins, minus Nichole and baby Emma, were there and Christian had a blast running all over with Carolyn and Austin.
Saturday we had his pick for dinner, fettucine alfredo (click the title of this post for the yummy recipe, a knock off from Olive Garden), cucumbers with italian dressing, and we were supposed to have purple grapes but I forgot and it was applesauce instead. We had a yummy ice cream pie with chocolate chip cookie crust and then watched Alvin and the Chipmunks, one of his presents.

I can't believe my little man is 7! One more year and he gets baptized! He is a very good, talented boy...I am so blessed to have him in my life!

Retirement Party!

Tonight was my father-in-law's retirement party after 30 years in education. There was hors d'ourves, and mingling and then speakers that have worked with Wayne over the years.
I have to say that I learned a lot about Wayne and the kind of person he is just in that hour and a half that I didn't fully know over the past almost 8 years that I have known him. I have always known him to be kind and caring and helpful. But the speakers talked about just how much he cared about the kids and the teachers and the others he worked with. He taught people life lessons, gave advice that has obviously made a lasting impression, most importantly he seems to have made a difference in people's lives. They named an award after him tonight, one that is given annually to a student that went to both Edgewood Middle and High School and is graduating. What an amazing honor. I was touched to see how much he has meant to others and just how much he has done in Harford County. He is an incredible person and I feel so lucky to know him.

We went to eat at Fallston Diner last night where the Denny's used to be. The food was average, pricey...

My Last Performance...

It is really just meaning the big stage, competition, etc...I am done. I did my last competition tonight at StarQuest. I did my lyrical solo to "Breakable" choreographed by Danielle Sten.

It felt good...I was competing against no one because I am in the 20+ Adult division but I still won a big trophy, platinum adjudication and $75! Woohoo! So, here are some pictures...there are more on my facebook...
