my mother's day

Started off early feeding Anna then falling back asleep. Then I hear Christian asking Matt something, Matt rolls over and asks if I want breakfast in bed. I say I am not exactly hungry right then so he tells Christian that we won't worry about doing breakfast. Later on the drive to church Christian tells me what he had wanted to do for my breakfast in bed. On his menu was waffles, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and juice. It sounded good, but we didn't have any of those things anyway, so I let him know that it made me happy that he had thought about that. He also gave me a letter that he wrote at school for me. Very cute.
Here is what it said:
My Mom is special because...she takes care of me and loves me and helps me.
I like it when my Mom...tikkles me and hugs me and kisses me.
I will never forget the time my Mom...gave me an O and an X (hug and kiss). When she gave me a butterfly kiss.
If I could give my Mom anything I would...give her a gift card to PF Changs. I would give lots of X and Os.

I got the flower after church ( I still don't understand why the dads get cookies and the moms get flowers, I am really an awful gardner, don't really enjoy doing it much, so the flower while a nice thought is probably going to do all its blooming in that little plastic container. I feel sorry for it). After church my loving hubby gave me his gift, well Jack actually got it from Matt, brought it to me and threw the Best Buy bag on the floor by the couch and said, "here is your present mommy!" Inside was the Sony earbuds that I did need and Mario Kart for the Wii. I do like Mario Kart. We played a couple of rounds, then the kids started to fight about it so we turned it off.

Overall it was an alright day. I do like feeling appreciated if only for a day. I love my kids beyond words. I was thinking yesterday that it is such a crazy thing to be 29, living in Maryland with 3 kids. It could've been so different and I am so glad it's not. Being a mom has completed my life in a way. I cannot imagine waking up everyday without my little men and my precious little girl. I am blessed!

I totally agree on the flower. My father in law gave out slices of cheesecake to the ladies in his ward. Why can't he be my bishop?!

Our ward got it right this year and gave out Ghiradelli chocolate. I think the bishopric counselor's wife was behind it. It was good. Glad that you had a nice Mother's Day!
